Young Entrepreneurs Acorn Project
Nurturing growth in business, realising the full potential of young people and encouraging the emergence of 'oaks from little acorns', that's the aim of the Acorn Project - a major initiative completed by EECC.
EECC realises it is vital to nurture and develop our business leaders of the future. Building on existing initiatives offered by organisations, such as Enterprise Insight and Young Enterprise, EECC seeks to involve young entrepreneurs by 'exploding their talent' in all aspects of business development. This provides new sources of learning for existing businesses and helps encourage more young people to enter into the world of enterprise.
With work currently underway to develop the involvement of young people up to 30 years old, including school children and existing business people, the Acorn Project is offering a range of initiatives, including:
- Business taster training in schools
- Networks of young people in business
- A regional award to recognise the value of young business people who support other youngsters
- On-line communities and other opportunities to integrate business and technology for young people
